Opening Remarks
Roger Hertog
For far too long, America's elites—including American Jews—have looked to the state to solve most of society's problems. Yet the struggles we face today as Jews and citizens are of a sort government cannot solve. Rather than looking to political liberalism as a substitute religion, committed Jews—in the U.S., Israel, and across the world—must seek to form a community dedicate to the Jewish values and conservative ideas that can help renew Israel, America, and the West. Will we rise to the challenge?
